Steve is our bird warden and will guide walkers through the Islands most significant bird watching area. Cost €5. Starting from Tourist Office.
11.00 AM 11.00 am – Morning milking at the goat farm –Ed Harper
Popular with families with children, Ed will explain all as he milks, 1 hour approx €5 - Check location of goatfarm. Limited to 10 by additional sessions can be arranged if demanded.
1.00 PM Leisurely Walk to a refurbished Island home with Chuck Kruger and Damien Enright, for a light buffet and poetry reading by Damien introduced by Chuck.
James and Julie have spared no expense, imagination or creative genius in restoring their traditional island farmhouse, resplendent with antiques and drapes, where Jane Austin meets the Lord of the Rings, a true setting for poetry or plays, approx 3 hours to include buffet. Buffet to include a light lunch and a glass of wine. Cost €15.
2.00 PM 2.00 pm – Option of bus tour of Island
The bus will be available for tours, approx 45 mins
2.00 PM Whale watching
Join Nic Slocum aboard the whale watching boat Voyager for a round the Island tour seeking out our local wildlife, Seals, Porpoises and perhaps an early Minke Whale venturing inshore to feed. Look out for nesting Fulmars off the northern tip of Cape Clear as well as the stunning cliffs of eastern cape with stunning views of the famous Fastnet Rock and Lighthouse. Weather dependent, Special reduced cost €15
7.00 PM 7.00 pm – Traditional/Sean nós singing in a Yurt with Máirtín Ó Méaóid hosted by Niamh Ni Drisceoil
Cleirehaven have brought a cosy and colourful new option to Cape with their popular Yurts and no better place for a cosy sit down and some traditional singing, approx 1.5 hours 20 person limit
8.30 PM Recommended Meal – An Siopa Beag or Cottors
As the fancy takes you, no specific meal is recommended.
10.00 PM Music with ‘Free Beer’
Free Beer are very popular on the island and both interact and extemporise to sometimes hilarious effect, so we thought you would like them, no charge
